The Harbinger Lavender Farm was founded in 2003 in Harbinger, NC on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We specialize in Provence and Grosso varieties of Lavender, which bloom from mid June through August.
Lavandula x intermedia ‘Provence’
Height 18-36” Zone 5-9 An excellent hybrid lavender with attractive, green-green foliage forming compact shruibby mounds. From spring into fall, spikes of lavender-blue blooms top long, waving stems. Very fragrant.
Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’
Height 24-30” Zone 5-9 Its attractive, round shape is maintained throughout the year and it has a long blooming season. The foliage is green-green and the extrememly fragrant, deep violet flowers, which form wide spikes, are carried on long, waving stems.
All of our products are made locally from plants grown on our small family farm, and while we are not certified organic, we use no chemicals in our growing process.
The fragrance of lavender is contained in the oil, which the plant produces. The amount and quality of the oil depends on the particular type of lavender and on the amount of sunshine, especially just before and during harvest.
